- Have students make the sounds of a donkey (hee-haw), dog (ruff-ruff),
cat (meow), and rooster (cock-a-doodle-doo). - Tell students that each time an animal name is mentioned in the story,
they can make the sound of that animal.
Purpose for Listening
The title of this folktale is “The Bremen Town Musicians.” Tell students
that they are going to hear a story about some animals that are on their
way to Bremen to become musicians. Ask students to listen carefully to
find out how the animals accidentally—that means they did not mean to—
scare a family along the way.
