Word Work: Suddenly
- In the read-aloud you heard, “[Goldilocks] sat [in Baby Bear’s chair]
until suddenly—crack!—the chair broke.” - Say the word suddenly with me three times.
- When something happens suddenly, it happens quickly and all of
sudden. - Goldilocks suddenly sat up when she heard Baby Bear’s wee little
voice.
The roller coaster suddenly went up then down. - Describe a time you did something suddenly. Be sure to use the
word suddenly when you tell about it. [Ask two or three students. If
necessary, guide and/or rephrase the students’ responses: “One time,
