Our columnist is suffering from Covid and is wearing a mask at home to protect his family

The news that GCSEs have been

cancelled this year due to the

pandemic is worrying for parents.

Junior is stressed out like

most kids his age. It means their

grades will be judged on things

like teacher assessments. I think

schools need to be lenient with

children going through this and,

hopefully, understand that kids

are in a difficult situation with

remote learning. Homeschooling

really isn’t ideal for most parents

or students, or teachers for

that matter. We just

have to come together

and hope it works.

It’s terrible for kids

because they will never get

their childhood back. At the

same time I’m very mindful

of the fact that we needed

to take action to stop the

virus progressing.

GCSEs are cancelled

Like many teenagers, my daughter

had a meltdown when she was

banned from TikTok. Now, as any

parent might do, I thought, “Well,

you must have breached some

rule in order for them to ban it.”

Therefore, I had no sympathy. But

then I found out this happened to a

few people who hadn’t breached

any rules, so then I felt terrible.

Anyway, she’s back on now

and I have a teenage daughter

who is happy and running around

the house again doing random

movements to the same song for

hours on end!

I also shared a video on my own

TikTok of Junior rapping, which

loads of people loved. I’ve been

working with him

and he’s been writing

his own music. I’m going to

get him in the studio soon,

so watch this space!

Jonathan Ross has suggested

that Bush Baby on The Masked

Singer could be me.

At this point in time, I’m able

to say nothing as it would spoil

the fun, wouldn’t it? It’s a great

show and I think they should

get me on there as a judge. I

think I’d be great at guessing who

people are. Especially if I am the

Bush Baby, which I probably am

not... but I might be!

Who’s that

behind the

mask?

Lauren Goodger is

the latest person to

say she won’t get the

coronavirus vaccine and has likened

the virus to having a cold. She’s also

said she doesn’t wear a mask.

I don’t have anything against

anyone who wants to express their

views, unless what they say can be

detrimental to other people’s health.

Personally, I think it’s a careless thing to

say. It’s just the wrong message. I know

at least two people who have been in a

bad way with coronavirus and have been

on oxygen for quite a while. It’s no joke.

With a lot of people, I think unless

it’s happened to them, or someone

close to them has been really unwell,

they don’t realise how serious it can

be. It’s also scary to know some people

don’t even care about the pandemic and

As you may have heard I’ve tested positive

for coronavirus. I was surprised to say the

least when I got my test results back.

At the time of writing this I’ve got aches

and I’ve just not been feeling quite right. It’s

a scary time for a lot of people out there.

I’m being careful around the kids so I’m

wearing a mask and keeping my distance.

It’s worrying for people who live on

their own. I feel incredibly grateful that

I have my family around me even if we

can’t be near each other!
