MARCH 2020

I often compare the pots, pans, and skil-
lets vying for space in my tiny New York
City kitchen to the characters in Lord
of the Flies; like in the book, someone
almost always gets hurt (read: relegated to
the donation pile). The Always Pan ($145,
fromourplace.com) earns its keep by easily
transforming from stir-fry wok to dumpling
steamer to steak skillet; the handle’s nest-
ing spatula rest saves me from dirtying my

Christofle has expanded
its collection of crystal
stemware with a series of
silver-plated barware, includ-
ing this Wine Stand, which
can be adjusted to hold vari-
ous bottle shapes. ($828 ,
christofle.com)

Stained-black slatted doors
on the Willamette Bar
Cabinet bring understated
sophistication to the con-
trasting oak veneer. Inside
there’s enough space for 12
wine bottles, hanging glass-
ware, and spirits. ($995,
williams-sonoma.com)

It’s a geometry game with
the Jasper Wine Rack. The
trapezoidal structure, made
from acacia wood, allows
multiples to be creatively
stacked, while the black
powder-coated iron sheets
create easy storage for up to
nine bottles. ($50, crateand
barrel.com)

The parallel storage orienta-
tion on Hooker Furniture’s
Graham Wine Console
shows off your favorite
labels while allowing it to
fit in tighter spaces. With a
Venetian white marble top
and muted gold metal frame,
it can hold up to 48 bottles.

RACK REPORT

Put bottles on display
with these stunning
storage pieces.

Form celebrates function in this stylish new
philanthropy-minded pan.

A PROVEN PAN countertop, and the built-in spout makes it
easy to serve curries when I can’t find a ladle.
Best of all, Our Place, created by education
nonprofit Malala Fund cofounder Shiza
Shahid, celebrates cultural food traditions
through limited-edition color releases of
the Always Pan and other pieces centered
around holidays. For Ramadan, the pan
goes green, and for Chinese New Year, it
comes in a vibrant red alongside a limited-
edition cleaver, serving platter, and bamboo
steamer. I don’t want to say the other items
in my kitchen should be worried, but they’re
definitely going to be up against some stiff
competition. —OSET BABUR
