Performance tires tend to have a wide, smooth face designed to grip the road surface. They also have heavy
shoulder lugs on the outside rib built into them for good traction during aggressive cornering. The V-styled
patter is effective in coursing water from under the tire’s footprint. Finally, performance tires are made of
softer rubber that bites into the road surface, giving the vehicle great traction. The down side is that they tend
