Water jackets line each cylinder in the engine, which carry cooling water to absorb the heat caused by engine
combustion. The water then flows away from the cylinders via the water jackets to the radiator, where it is
cooled. Water jackets also run through the cylinder heads and intake manifold to cool these engine parts and
provide a crossover to each side of the engine.
