Lion, privateer of the Cape, has taken
and brought to Les Cayes afénau [ ?]
with a cargo of Negroes being sent
from St Lucia to Jamaica under the
Portuguese flag.
Supplément aux Affiches Améri-
caines, 24 July: 'The Senac arrived at
the Cape coming from Senegal with
a cargo of 56 blacks.
'217 blacks traded on the coast of
Mozambique introduced into this
port by the Gänge, from Lorient.'
Affiches Américaines, 16 October
Stanislaus Foache, Hellot and Co.,
'hold a sale from the slave-ship Acrà
coming from the Gold Coast'.
Affiches Américaines, 20 November :
The Danish ship Kristiansborg 'with
a very fine cargo of 200 Negroes from
the Gold Coast' to be disposed of by
Foache, Hellot.
Group providing most imports: Guiñean
(Gold Coast), but this cannot be
vouched for because of the irregu-
larity of the announcements.
Group providing most runaways: Bantu
(Kongos), out of about 1,900 an-
nouncements.

  1. Out of the 202 Negroes in this cargo, seven
    ran away soon after arrival: [Seven run-
    aways new Negroes of the Mandingo
    nation, unbranded, from the sale of the
    slave ship captured from the enemies of
    the State early last month; they ran away
    from the domicile of M. Sainte-Marie in
    the district of Le Borgne in the night of
    the 16th to the 17th."


"The Fleurie of Nantes, coming
from Senegal with 130 Negroes.
"The Chambellan Schask, a Danish
ship with a cargo of 400 blacks from
the Gold Coast for Foache, Hellot
and Co.
'The Patience of St Thomas, with
a fine cargo of 200 Negroes from the
Gold Coast for Lory, Plombard and
Co.
'Foache, Morange and Co., an-
nounce that they have just received
a very fine cargo of 271 Negroes from
the Gold Coast.
'Lory and Plombard announce
that they have for sale 31 head of
new Negroes of the Arada nation,
and in the following week 59 other
new Negroes, also Aradas.
'Foache, Morange announce the
arrival of a very fine cargo of
207 Negroes from the Gold Coast.
'Abeille and Guys have for sale
12 fine Negroes from the Angola
Coast, and Foache has 50 head of
Negroes from the Gold Coast.
"The Duchesse de Polignac of
St Malo, coming from Gabinde, with
arrival of 800 blacks from the Angola
Coast.
'Martineau and Blanchard have
50 fine new Negroes for sale.
'Roux and Rivière have received a
cargo from the brigantine Elsinore.'
