An AR-enableddevice analyzes avideo stream andidentifies a physicalobject by recognizingits shape or a markerattached to it.AR softwareconnects witha 3-D digital facsimile of theobject in thecloud, called a “digital twin.”
Data from sensors onthe physical objectstreams to the twin andmay be combined therewith data from businesssystems and externalsources.The software retrievesinformation from the twin, such as performance data about the object or interaction instructions, and the AR device superimposes it on the user’s view.
The user interactswith the object bysending commandsto the cloud througha touchscreen;by voice; or withgestures (whichrequires enabledheadsets orsmart glasses).
Control commands,such as “stop,” are received by the cloud and sent on to the object.
