concerns, he never took ownership, he just deflected,
and distracted her from the issues by telling her that
he loved her.
Michelle was often battling confusion as to
whether Robert was sincere in his feelings. His
verbal expressiveness and willingness to say, “I love
you and want you in my life,” wasn’t really backed
up with any action. However, the fact that he shared
his feelings at all, often allowed his words to
overshadow his lack of showing Michelle his love
outwardly. Michelle felt like, “Okay, there’s
something here worth holding on to. I should
definitely keep moving forward with him.”
Eventually Michelle and Robert entered a
committed relationship. However, the whole time she
felt like there was something missing. A void of some
kind. Robert was terribly inconsistent. His actions
didn’t match up with the love he was constantly
professing. Robert had more excuses than he had
anything else. More times than not, he would forget
little things. He also wasn’t as affectionate as she
