Eat your eggs any way you like. Boil a bunch of eggs every few days and
place them in your refrigerator to eat as a healthy snack or for a quick healthy
breakfast. If you’re having an omelet, cook your eggs in butter (yes, butter)
rather than in polyunsaturated vegetable oils to prevent the cholesterol oxidation
that occurs when these oils are heated, which leads to the formation of cell-
damaging free radicals. On the Perfect 10 Diet, you can eat eggs on a daily basis
and rest assured that you are making a very healthy, as well as a sound, choice.
POULTRY
Poultry is an excellent source of protein. Many body builders swear that they
build more muscles by eating lean chicken and turkey. This may be the effects of
good quality protein on HGH production and testosterone.
Poultry also contains vitamins and minerals, such as phosphorus and copper,
essential for good health. Poultry (especially the dark meat) contains zinc, which
is essential to support the production of female and male sex hormones
(estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). Zinc also improves skin complexion.
Again, I recommend that you eat pasture-fed or freerange birds. You can buy
pasture-fed chicken from organic foods stores, local farmers, and online. Organic
poultry is readily available in most supermarkets. (A list of suppliers is also
provided at the end of this book.) Eating poultry regularly seems to have an
inverse relationship to colon cancer compared to the consumption of red meat.
On the Perfect 10 Diet, I encourage you to eat chicken, turkey, pheasant, and
duck. Rest assured that poultry, whether it’s lean like chicken or fatty like duck,
will positively impact your health. Enjoy your poultry cooked any way you like,
except deep-fried.
FISH
Fish is an excellent source of protein and fat. It contains healthy omega-3 fatty
acids, which play a role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and the
optimization of sex hormones. Studies confirm that people who eat fish regularly
are less likely to suffer strokes, since fish, like aspirin, prolongs bleeding time.
Eating fish regularly has also been shown to be inversely related to the
development of colon and other types of cancer, including stomach and
esophageal. Epidemiologic studies that show this advantage make fish a very
favorable protein choice on the Perfect 10 Diet . Eating fish regularly has been
shown to control the levels of leptin, the satiety hormone. That can lead to
weight loss.
