against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.

All the while, we were still staying at Shomolu in Lagos. In that

house, a lot of physical and spiritual attacks emanated and that

necessitated my parent's decision to relocate to Ikosi-Ketu area of

Lagos State in the year 1975.

GOING TO COLLEGE

My entering into college was quite an experience. Twice, I had to

sit for entrance examinations and was called for interviews in two

different schools, but to no avail. I was denied admission in the

very early seventies. It was after these experiences at that early age

that I came to terms that truly prayer and fasting is inevitable in

one's life as a Christian.

I had to leave my parents' house to stay with an uncle far away from

home, where I had to start attending a preparatory class after my

failed experiences at entering college initially. One day, one of my

big uncles that was staying close to my parents visited the house

(where I was now staying) and asked after my schooling and my

plans. After all said, he then gave me N1 to purchase postal order

plus commission, which I later sent to an address he equally gave

to me, to obtain a school form in our home town Ido-Ekiti in the

then Ondo State, now Ekiti State. Not long after, the form was sent

by the school (Ekiti Parapo College); it was filled and sent back to

the school for processing.

I was then invited for an entrance examination. The entrance exam

was taken at the then Igbobi College and I eventually traveled

home for the second leg of the interview. Consequently, I was

admitted in 1975. Though I got the letter for the interview late, all

and in fact, was said to have been caused by the author of the first,
only that, it would have been the last onslaught but God did not
allow it. This can be likened to Daniel's experience, when he was
thrown into the lion's den; the people thought the end had come for
him, but was saved miraculously by God, the author and finisher of
our faith – Dan. 6:16 & 22. God shut the lion's mouth, he delivered
me from death. Most of the people around thought it was finished,
that I could not survive.

Note to someone reading this: A lot of bad occurrences might be
going on in your life or happening around you. Know that there is
a God who sees and knows everything and whatever God has not
purposes for you is not allowed to happen, no matter how hard the
enemy tries.
