3. Approach surface
The approach surface is a surface longitudinally centered on the extended runway
centerline and extending outward and upward from each end of a runway at a designated
slope based upon the type of available or planned approach to the runway. Figure 6- 4
illustrates the runway approach surface; the dimensions appear in Table 6-26.

- Horizontal surface
A horizontal surface is a plane 150 ft above the established airport elevation. The radius of
the arcs is 10.000 ft as shown in Table 6- 26
