A localidade de Quixaba fica no distrito de Mussurepe, pertencente a Campos dos Goytacazes. Seus moradores vivem
da pesca em grande parte, mas praticam a agricultura em pequena escala para consumo próprio e para a venda. Como
muitas outras localidades da restinga, Quixaba tinha casas com paredes de barro sobre bambu trançado e telhado de
palha de taboa. Seu folclore era um dos mais singulares de toda a região.
Quixaba village is located in the Mussurepe district, which belongs to Campos dos Goytacazes. Its inhabitants live largely on fishing,
although they practice small-scale agriculture for their own consumption and also for sale. Like many other restinga localities, Quixaba
had houses with walls made of mud and braided bamboo with cattail thatched roof. Its folklore was one of the most unique in the
whole region.
