148 In his absence, the people ofMoses adopted a calf made fromtheir ornaments—a body whichlowed. Did they not see that it couldnot speak to them, nor guide them inany way? They took it for worship.They were in the wrong.١٤٩

149 Then, when they regretted, andrealized that they had erred, theysaid, “Unless our Lord extends Hismercy to us, and forgives us, we willbe among the losers.”هِمِوْ ١٥٠

ٱلظ
150 And when Moses returned to hispeople, angry and disappointed, hesaid, “What an awful thing you did inmy absence. Did you forsake thecommandments of your Lord sohastily?” And he threw down thetablets; and he took hold of hisbrother’s head, dragging himtowards himself. He said, “Son of mymother, the people haveoverpowered me, and were about tokill me; so do not allow the enemiesto gloat over me, and do not countme among the unjust people.”١٥١

لأِى وَ ِل

و ۖ َكتِ مَ حْ رَ

ٰ
ٱلر َّ
151 He said, “My Lord, forgive me andmy brother, and admit us into Yourmercy; for you are the Most Mercifulof the merciful.”١٥٢

َّ
ٱت
َ
لجْعِ
ْ
ٌب ٱل

ض
َ

ى فِ

لذِ وَ مْ

ِّ
بن ر َّ
ِّ
وٰ ةِ م

َكِل ۚ ٱلد
ٰ
َ
ذ
َ
كو َ
ى

زجْ
َ
ن

ر

فمُ
ْ
ٱل
152 Those who idolized the calf haveincurred wrath from their Lord, andhumiliation in this life. We thusrequite the innovators.وَ ١٥٣

ا ٱلس

هدِ بَعْ نۢكَ مِ َّب رَ

ن

نامَ ءَوَ
153 As for those who commit sins,and then repent afterwards andbelieve—your Lord, thereafter, isForgiving and Merciful.
