And when they saw him, theymarveled at him, and cut theirhands. They said, “Good Allah, thisis not a human, this must be aprecious angel.”٣٢

ا م
ً
و ن
ُ
ك

نجَ نَ

رغِ
ٰ
ٱلص َّ
32 She said, “Here he is, the one youblamed me for. I did try to seducehim, but he resisted. But if he doesnot do what I tell him to do, he willbe imprisoned, and will be one of thedespised.”٣٣

33 He said, “My Lord, prison is moredesirable to me than what they callme to. Unless You turn theirscheming away from me, I may yieldto them, and become one of theignorant.”٣٤

ٱل
34 Thereupon his Lord answeredhim, and diverted their schemingaway from him. He is the Hearer, theKnower.٣٥

35 Then it occurred to them, afterthey had seen the signs, to imprisonhim for a while.٣٦

يِنسِحْ مُ إ
ْ
ٱل
َ
ن
36 Two youth entered the prison withhim. One of them said, “I see myselfpressing wine.” The other said, “Isee myself carrying bread on myhead, from which the birds areeating. Tell us their interpretation—we see that you are one of therighteous.”٣٧

37 He said, “No food is served to you,but I have informed you about itbefore you have received it. That issome of what my Lord has taughtme. I have forsaken the tradition ofpeople who do not believe in Allah;and regarding the Hereafter, theyare deniers.”
