12 Then We awakened them to knowwhich of the two groups could bettercalculate the length of their stay.١٣

13 We relate to you their story intruth. They were youths whobelieved in their Lord, and Weincreased them in guidance.ا نَ ُّب رَ ١٤

14 And We strengthened their hearts,when they stood up and said, “OurLord is the Lord of the heavens andthe earth; we will not call on any godbesides Him, for then we would havespoken an outrage.”ا نَمُ ١٥

ف ۖ

اًبذِ ٱلل

15 “These people, our people, havetaken to themselves gods other thanHim. Why do they not bring a clearproof concerning them? Who, then,does greater wrong than he whoinvents lies and attributes them toAllah?”ذِ ١٦

16 “Now that you have withdrawnfrom them, and from what theyworship besides Allah, take shelterin the cave. And your Lord will unfoldHis mercy for you, and will set youraffair towards ease.”ى رَ ١٧

اًدشِرْا م ُّ
ًّ

و
17 You would have seen the sun,when it rose, veering away from theircave towards the right, and when itsets, moving away from them to theleft, as they lay in the midst of thecave. That was one of Allah’swonders. He whom Allah guides istruly guided; but he whom Hemisguides, for him you will find nodirecting friend.١٨

18 You would think them awake,although they were asleep. And Weturned them over to the right, and tothe left, with their dog stretching itspaws across the threshold. Had youlooked at them, you would have
