Chapter 9
Communication in Marriage
Speaking the truth in love to one another makes us grow up in our relationship with God.
Similarly, speaking the truth in love to each other as married people makes us grow closer to each
other.
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the
head, even Christ:Ephesians 4:15A husband and wife must be the best of friends; share every success, disappointment, joy and
pain together.
Speak
Husband and wife must always make the effort to speak to each other (the children in turn
learn this). A clear sign of unhappiness is when the couple are very quiet at home but immediately
a visitor arrives, they begin to talk. They, however, revert to silence when the visitor leaves.
- Communication results in growth.^1
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the
head, even Christ:Ephesians 4:15- Speaking brings relief and healing.
I said, I will answer also my part, I also will show mine opinion. For I am full of
matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.Behold, my belly is as wine which
hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles. I will speak, that I may be
refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
