1.12 Basic Plant Design Concept – Reliability
- Coils shall be of Bare tube due to sticky nature of the dust.
- Hammering system on each module/section of boiler to remove dust and thus to
improve heat transfer. - High thickness guillotine damper flap considered to increase the damper life.
- 99.9% sealing, flue gas isolation damper selected for reliable operation and to
attend any repair inside the boiler during cement plant running condition. - Dual RAV considered in PH Boiler to avoid the air ingressment.
1.13 Single Steam Pressure System:
The single steam pressure system is less complex and easy to operate but the
possible efficiency of the total steam circuit (exhaust boiler and steam turbine) will
be less than the more used dual pressure steam system,
The characteristics of this thermodynamics system are that steam is generated
by the PH and AQC boilers on a single pressure and temperature. There is single
steam inlet at the turbine. This system is a simple system and due to single pressure
complete low-pressure sections of boilers, feed water system piping, valves and
instrumentation are avoided and single inlet turbine is envisaged hence installation
cost of the WHR system is less than that of dual pressure system. Disadvantage of
single pressure system is that it has limitation as far as extraction of complete flue
gas potential of low temperature end is concerned.
