Explanation
This prescription is suited for Dampness without Heat. The main manifestations would be a
feeling of heaviness, epigastric fullness, tiredness, chilliness, a sticky-white tongue coating and a
Slippery pulse.
- Huo Xiang, Bai Dou Kou, and Hou Po fragrantly resolve Dampness. Fragrant herbs that
resolve Dampness do so by affecting the muscles and promoting sweating. This will help
to relieve the muscle ache. - Fu Ling, Zhu Ling, Yi Yi Ren and Ze Xie drain Dampness.
- Ban Xia helps to drain Dampness by resolving Phlegm.
- Dan Dou Chi clears Heat and stops irritability.
- Xing Ren helps to drain Dampness by making Lung-Qi descend (and therefore move
fluids downwards towards the Bladder and Kidneys).
