Shu Di Huang Radix Rehmanniae glutinosae praeparata 15 g
Bai Shao Radix Paeoniae albae 12 g
Shan Yao Radix Dioscoreae oppositae 12 g
Huang Qin Radix Scutellariae baicalensis 9 g
Huang Bo Cortex Phellodendri 9 g
Xu Duan Radix Dipsaci 6 g
Gan Cao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis 3 g
Han Lian Cao Herba Ecliptae prostratae 9 g
Qing Hao Herba Artemisiae apiaceae 6 g
Di Yu Radix Sanguisorbae officinalis 9 g

Explanation
- The first eight herbs constitute the Bao Yin Jian.
- Sheng Di, Shu Di, Bai Shao and Shan Yao nourish Yin. Sheng Di and Bai Shao also
calm Blood. Sheng Di also cools Blood and stops bleeding. Shu Di and Bai Shao also
nourish Blood. - Huang Qin and Huang Bo clear Heat.
- Xu Duan is added even though it tonifies Kidney-Yang to firm Qi, stop bleeding and
strengthen the Kidneys. - Gan Cao harmonizes.
- Han Lian Cao and Qing Hao clear Empty-Heat and stop bleeding.
- Di Yu cools Blood, stops bleeding and astringes.
- Qian Cao Gen cools Blood, stops bleeding and moves Blood.
