Explanation



  • L.I.-11 expels Wind-Heat and clears Heat.

  • L.I.-4 expels Wind-Heat and clears the nose.

  • L.I.-20 and Bitong (extra point) expel Wind and clear the nose and sinuses.

  • Du-23 opens the nose and expels Wind. It should be needled horizontally forwards.

  • BL-12, with cupping, expels Wind.

Lian Qiao Fructus Forsythiae suspensae 6 g
Xuan Shen Radix Scrophulariae ningpoensis 4.5 g
Jie Geng Radix Platycodi grandiflori 4.5 g
Xin Yi Hua Flos Magnoliae liliflorae 4.5 g

Explanation



  • He Ye, Niu Bang Zi and Bo He expel Wind-Heat.

  • Shi Chang Pu opens the nasal orifice and separates turbid from clear.

  • Shi Gao, Lian Qiao and Xuan Shen clear Heat. Xuan Shen is included also to prevent
    injury of Yin from Heat.

  • Jie Geng restores the descending of Lung-Qi.
