Explanation
- Ban Xia, Fu Ling and Chen Pi form the Er Chen Tang Two Old Decoction which
resolves Phlegm. - Zhu Ru resolves Phlegm-Heat, calms the Mind and stops vomiting.
- Zhi Shi moves Qi and harmonizes the Stomach.
This is an excellent all-round prescription to resolve Phlegm-Heat from Lungs or Stomach. It is
particularly indicated when the tongue has a sticky coating that is at the same time rough and
dry-yellow. Very often this type of coating can be observed inside a central midline crack (of
the Stomach type, i.e. in the central portion only, not extending to the tip, see Figure 12.4(349)).
This prescription is excellent to relieve tiredness deriving from Phlegm-Heat. It also lifts the
mood and relieves depression.
