Explanation
- Huo Xiang is the emperor herb to fragrantly resolve Dampness. It also harmonizes the
Stomach. - Zi Su Ye and Bai Zhi help Huo Xiang to resolve Dampness.
- Ban Xia and Chen Pi dry Dampness and harmonize the Stomach.
- Bai Zhu and Fu Ling strengthen the Spleen to resolve Dampness.
- Hou Po and Da Fu Pi move Qi and resolve Dampness. They also open the chest and
relieve fullness. - Jie Geng makes Lung-Qi descend and opens the diaphragm.
- Sheng Jiang, Da Zao and Gan Cao harmonize the prescription and regulate the Middle.
This prescription fragrantly resolves Dampness. It is especially suited to resolve Dampness from
the head since it contains many aromatic herbs. It is more suited for Damp-Cold (white-sticky
tongue coating) rather than Damp-Heat (yellow tongue coating).
