Guan Xin Su He Wan
(Styrax Coronary Pill)


Su He Xiang Styrax liquidis
Bing Pian Borneol
Tan Xiang Lignum Santali albi
Ru Xiang Gummi Olibanum
Mu Hu Die Semen Oroxyli indici.

Explanation


This pill is suitable for Chest Painful Obstruction from stasis of Blood or Cold. It is not to be
taken for more than 2-3 months at a stretch.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Bluish-Purple tongue, especially in the
chest area (see Figure 13.2(366)).


Fu Fang Dan Shen Pian
(Compound-Formula Salvia Tablet)


Dan Shen Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae
Bing Pian Borneol

Explanation


This remedy is also suitable for Chest Painful Obstruction from stasis of Blood. It is milder than
the previous patent remedy and can be taken for longer periods of time. It dilates the coronary
arteries and increases the volume of blood in them.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a slightly Purple tongue. As this remedy is
for milder cases of stasis of Blood, it could also be prescribed when the stasis of Blood manifests
with darkened veins under the tongue: this sign usually appears before the main body of the
tongue becomes Purple.
