Explanation


This is suitable for Chest Painful Obstruction from stasis of Blood. In terms of strength, it is
milder than Guan Xin Su He Wan but stronger than Fu Fang Dan Shen Pian.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Purple body in the chest area.


Dan Shen Pian

Dan Shen Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae


Explanation


This is suitable for Chest Painful Obstruction from stasis of Blood. It is the mildest of all the
above remedies and can be used for a long time.


In this case, the tongue may be only slightly Purple, or not Purple at all and only show a slight
darkening of the sub-lingual veins.

Explanation


This plaster for Chest Bi from stasis of Blood is applied to the umbilicus: this is based on the
idea of treating the Pre-natal Qi to affect the Post-natal Qi. It is also intended to regulate Qi and
Blood in the Governing, Directing and Penetrating Vessels, all of which originate from the area
below the umbilicus. In particular the Penetrating Vessel subdues rebellious Qi in the chest and
regulates Blood.
