Explanation
- Zhi Shi makes Qi descend and therefore frees the chest relieving fullness and oppression.
- Xie Bai invigorates Yang, dispels Cold and stops chest pain.
- Gui Zhi invigorates Yang and dispels Cold from the blood vessels.
- Gua Lou frees the chest and resolves Phlegm.
- Hou Po opens the chest and relieves fullness. It also subdues rebellious Qi.
This prescription is more frequently used than the previous one as to that prescription's two main
ingredients it adds Zhi Shi to move Qi and Gui Zhi to invigorate Yang in the blood vessels.

Dang Gui Radix Angelicae sinensis 12 g
Bai Shao Radix Paeoniae albae 9 g
Gui Zhi Ramulus Cinnamomi cassiae 9 g
Xi Xin Herba Asari cum radice 1.5 g
Zhi Gan Cao Radix Glycyrrhizae uralensis praeparata 5 g
Da Zao Fructus Ziziphi jujubae 8 pieces

Explanation
- Dang Gui and Bai Shao tonify Blood.
- Gui Zhi and Xi Xin are warm and pungent and warm the blood vessels. They also expel
Cold from the blood vessels. - Zhi Gan Cao and Da Zao on the one hand assist Dang Gui and Bai Shao to nourish
Blood, and on the other hand help Gui Zhi and Xi Xin to warm the channels and blood
vessels. - Mu Tong penetrates the blood vessels and directs the other herbs to them.
