Dull abdominal pain which comes in bouts and improves after rest, the application of warmth
and pressure, tiredness, feeling cold, desire for warm drinks, loose stools, depression, slight
breathlessness.


Tongue: Pale.


Pulse: Weak.


This is a condition of deficiency of Spleen-Yang with some internal Empty-Cold.


Treatment Principle


Tonify Qi, warm Yang.

ST-36 Zusanli, SP-6 Sanyinjiao, ST-37 Shangjuxu, ST-39 Xiajuxu, Ren-6 Qihai, Ren-12
Zhongwan, BL-20 Pishu, BL-21 Weishu, BL-25 Dachangshu. Reinforcing method. Moxa should
be used.


Explanation



  • ST-36 and SP-6 tonify Stomach and Spleen and promote the transformation and
    transportation of Qi in the abdomen. SP-6 also stops lower abdominal pain.

  • ST-37 and ST-39 regulate the Large and Small Intestines. ST-39 is specific for
    abdominal pain.

  • Ren-6 moves Qi in the abdomen. With moxa, especially the moxa box, it is specific for
    abdominal pain from Empty-Cold.

  • Ren-12, BL-20 and BL-21 regulate Stomach and Intestines.

  • BL-25, Back-Transporting point of the Large Intestine, strengthens the descending
    movement of the Large Intestine.
