Explanation


The first remedy moves Liver-Qi and resolves retention of food, while the second one tonifies
Spleen-Qi and stops diarrhoea. In the case of diarrhoea, it is better to combine a Qi-moving
remedy with one to tonify the Spleen and stop diarrhoea as stagnant Liver-Qi often invades the
Spleen and interferes with its transforming and transporting.
