Explanation


This prescription is specific for Blood Painful-Urination Syndrome from Blood-Heat.



  • Xiao Ji cools Blood, stops bleeding and opens the Water passages. It should be used in a
    large dose.

  • Ou Jie and Pu Huang help Xiao Ji to stop bleeding. Pu Huang stops bleeding without
    congealing Blood as it also moves Blood.

  • Hua Shi, Mu Tong and Zhu Ye clear Heat, drain Dampness and open the Water
    passages.

  • Zhi Zi drains Damp-Heat from the Three Burners.

  • Sheng Di cools Blood and nourishes Yin.

  • Dang Gui helps to nourish Yin by nourishing Blood. It also helps the other herbs to stop
    bleeding by entering Blood.

  • Gan Cao harmonizes.
