Explanation
The first eight herbs constitute the Ma Huang Lian Qiao Chi Xia Dou prescription which clears
Heat, resolves Dampness and stimulates the dispersing and descending of Lung-Qi. It
specifically drains Dampness from the skin. The last five herbs constitute the Wu Wei Xiao Du
Yin which resolves Fire-Poison and is specific to treat boils, carbuncles and sores from
Fire-Poison.

Clinical Manifestations
Oedema of whole body or legs, scanty urination, a feeling of heaviness, a feeling of oppression
of the chest.
Tongue: Swollen, sticky coating.
Pulse: Slippery.

Strengthen the Spleen, resolve Dampness, benefit Yang and resolve oedema.
