select light green from the bottom row. Click OK to exit.
Inside the merged cells, type in the following text:
1) Enter the coefficients of Equat. 1 in the green boxes.

b. Click on cell B11 and drag to cell G11. Right-click inside the highlighted
cells, and make the same format changes you did in Step 5, except for
the Pattern. Choose tan, which is the second color from the left on the
bottom row.
Inside this box, type in the following text:
2) Enter the coefficients of Equat. 2 in the tan boxes.

c. Click on cell B13, and drag right and down to cell G15. Right-click in-
side the highlighted cells and make the following format changes:

i. Alignment: Select Wrap Text and Merge Cells.
ii. Border: Select Outline.
iii. Patterns: Select pale yellow.

d. Type in the following text, remembering to press Alt+Enter when you
see the paragraph icon (¶). (Do this twice after the first sentence!)
3a) Enter the y-coefficient of Equat. 2 in Box A. ¶ ¶
3b) Enter the y-coefficient of Equat. 1 in Box B.

e. Click on cell B17 and drag right and down to cell G18. Change the cell
formatting the same as Step 5c, except use light pink for the Pattern
color. Type the following text into these merged cells:
4) The y-coefficient in this equation should be zero. If it isn’t, you made a
mistake in step 3a and/or 3b.
