Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT. Among his publications are:

Income Communities, with Donald A. Schön and Bish Sanyal (MIT Press, 1999); and City
of Bits: Space, Place, and the Infobahn (MIT Press, 1995). Before coming to MIT, he was the
G. Ware and Edythe M. Travelstead Professor of Architecture and Director of the
Master in Design Studies Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

William Odell is a design principal of HOK, St. Louis and co director of HOK’s Sus-
tainable Design Group. He recently co-authored, with HOK’s Sandra Mendler,The
HOK Guidebook to Sustainable Design( John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2000).

Derrell Parker is a partner in the contract/commercial interior design firm Parker
Scaggiari. He is an Adjunct Instructor at the School of Architecture, Interior Design
and Landscape Architecture at the University of Nevada/Las Vegas (UNLV). Der-
rell became involved with the Legislative Coalition of Interior Designers/Nevada
(LCIDN) and currently serves on the “Model Legislation” Task Force for NCIDQ.

Daria Pizzetta is a senior associate and administrative director of the Interiors depart-
ment in the New York office of Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates (HHPA). Ms.
Pizzetta chairs the AIA/New York State Chapter Interiors Committee and is a mem-
ber of the American Library Association and the Library Administration and Man-
agement Association.
