Jen Renzi is a senior editor atInterior Design. Prior to joining the magazine in 2000, she
was a business strategist for a web-based retailer of furniture and home accessories,
and has more than seven years of communications experience in the fields of prod-
uct design and fine art. Renzi holds a B.A. in Art History from Yale and received her
M.A. in Cinema Studies from New York University.
KATHY ROGERS
Jacobs Facility
Kathy Rogers has 25 years of experience in the interior design profession. She has
worked with The Stubbins Group in Boston, Gensler & Associates in Denver and Salt
Lake City, HOK in St. Louis, and Jacobs Facilities in St. Louis and Washington, D.C.
In addition to serving as project manager for large corporate and government proj-
ects, she headed Interiors Groups at HOK and Jacobs Facilities in St. Louis.
MAYER RUS
Former Editor-in-Chief Mayer Rus was the fourth person in Interiror Designmagazine’s
70-year history to hold this esteemed title. In 1990, Rus joined the staff of the maga-
zine, having graduated from Yale University with a degree in Art History. Rus has
written forThe New York Times,Vogue,Artforum, and Elle. His book,Loft, was published
by The Monacelli Press in 1998 and is now in its third printing. Rus is the current
Design Editor atHouse & Garden.
FREDERICK J. SCHMIDT
The Environments Group
Fred Schmidt is the Managing Principal of The Environments Group. In this role, he
serves as chair of the Management Committee, which guides the operational, mar-
keting, financial and administrative functions of the firm. Prior to assuming his gen-
eral management position, he founded the firm’s facility programming practice.

Andre Staffelbach and Jo Staffelbach Heinz are Principals of Staffelbach Design Asso-
ciates, a Dallas-based international interior architectural, planning and design firm
founded in 1966. They have served in various leadership positions in industry design
and qualification associations and worked to further design education.
KAREN STEPHENSON, Ph.D

Karen Stephenson, president of NetForm International, teaches at Harvard Univer-
sity, the University of London, MIT, and UCLA. Internationally recognized in net-
work theory and practice, she has been featured in leading journals and presses (The
