Take walks in nature and make a point of noticing the
details. Realize that everything you are looking at is alive,
even the rocks, and they have something to say to you.


Avoid any tendencies to be fascinated with violence on tel-
evision, movies, books, etc. This is just an old program
that keeps the status quo. Avoid contact sports for a while.


Find an older person, a child, or an animal whom you can
nurture and care for. Listen to them.


Sing.


Prepare food and make a point of sharing it. Bring your
own dish to a party or gathering.


Get out the art supplies and paint or draw your impres-
sions of the world around you.


Get out the old photographs of yourself and your family as
you grew up. Get in touch with how you felt then. Talk
mentally to your father, mother, brothers, sisters, and all
the significant characters represented there. Tell them
everything you always wanted to say to them but didn't.
Get out the hanky.


Make a point of telling someone how you feel every day.
Silence may be macho, but it kills you off early and ruins
shamanic practice.


You are probably used to hiding your fearful feelings even
from yourself. Begin to admit to your fears and tell some-
one else about them. It's okay when you are afraid.


Learn to be able to accept help from others. You are not
an island. You cannot exist without support.


Spend more time being, less time doing.


If you are the overly magnetic woman or man:

Make a practice of being direct. If you want something, go
to the person who can do something about it, not the one
who will agree with you and pat you on the head. Avoid
gossip.


Cut the chatter and take action.


Do aerobic exercise daily to build up physical strength and
inner power.


Make a list of everything you feel helpless about. Do what-
