Marketing Resource #98: Hold open houses on a regular basis to show
off the properties you have available. Use the event to increase your
exposure in the area, plus add fresh new names to your growing leads
list.


Show Off Your Properties
Real estate agents do it—why can’t you? Do what? Hold an
open house. It’s a great way to show off one of your investment
properties. You can advertise, put the flags and signs out, distribute
flyers in the neighborhood, and place ads in the neighborhood
newspapers.
On Open House Day, make sure you have plenty of business
cards on hand, as well as flyers that give all the particulars of the home
and how it can be acquired. Don’t try to handle this event on your own.
Have someone stationed at the front door to greet visitors and capture
their contact information, and to make sure they are handed available
materials. This leaves you free to converse with visitors and answer all
their questions.
If you are offering a lease option or rent-to-own on your
properties, make that clear as so many families today are unable to
acquire funding through the traditional channels. That fact alone should
draw a large number of interested people.
