I was first diagnosed with gout at the young tender age of 26 years old and boy was my
first attack was painful and crippling. When my doctor first diagnosed me, I refused to
believe it was gout, thinking to myself that I must get a second opinion, that it must be
a fracture of some type. Why would a 26 year old get gout at such an early age? Yes at
the time I was overweight by about 40 pounds and I loved to indulge at McDonalds or
some other grease joint. I also loved to drink! Jack Daniels whisky with Coke was my
choice of beverage at the bars on the weekends and yes, I was young and when you are
young, you think that you are immortal, death seems far away but the truth is, we
aren’t... and my diagnosis of gout was the real wake-up call that things had to change in
my life.
Funny thing is, all of my gout attacks have been correlated with me drinking JDs and
Coke few hours before each and every attack! My lifestyle desperately needed to
change, I remember after another bout with a gout attack going to visit another doctor
and jokingly telling my girlfriend at the time that I was “expired, finished!” “Time to get
rid of this guy and find somebody else”, he laughingly said. I was shocked to hear those
comments although he was a bit rude in my opinion but you know what? He said the
truth! Some people don’t like to hear the truth, I know cause I’ve told friends who are
overweight that if you continue in your ways you will have health issues but they simply
disregard me. It’s like listening to a doomsdayer calling for the end-times in their ears!
They kind of look at you like you are nuts! There is so much confusion out there about
what is considered good to eat and bad to eat, so many diets that contradict each other
and so much bad advice in the media, on the internet, magazines sometimes even from
your own doctor.
So I set up to learn, learn and learn some more and test, test and test some more to see
what works and what doesn’t, I’ve spoken to countless doctors over the years and in this
e-book you will find my findings basically on how to live with your gout and lower those
uric acid levels to avoid another gout attack. Now I know what you are thinking? You’re
thinking: “Tell us about how to cure gout and how get rid of this disease”. Truth be told,
not all of yous, who are gout sufferers can cure gout. For example, if you have a blood
