disorder like thalassemia or anemia, you will most likely never get rid of your gout and
should never attempt to try and cure your gout through diet. Truth be told that is the
reason I got gout at such an early age was due to the fact that I was born with
thalassemia minor and I am just a tad anemic due to the thalassemia. Studies have
shown that people who have a blood condition are more prone to develop gout later in
life so for me unfortunately it’s a genetic thing, whereby I can’t reverse my gout through
an extreme dietary change, it’s like fighting a losing battle, there is no point, I am too
sensitive. Plain and simple.
A stern warning for those who are on prescription drugs like allopurinol, colchicine,
probenecid and want to get off of them through remedies and/or dietary change. By
doing so you will most likely get a gout attack or several gout attacks as your
body adjusts getting off of the medication. You can try it but the method I suggest is
the following:
Step 1
Talk to your doctor about it beforehand and see if he is willing to work with you in
monitoring your progress. If he has good reason not to since you may have another
condition then listen to him and do not attempt to get off your meds. The
recommended way is to lower your prescription drug doses progressively, measuring
the results of your blood tests. Anything that is done abruptly will backfire with a gout
attack!
Step 2
If you find your doctor is simply ignorant to the recommendation then try and find
another doctor who is willing to monitor your progress and give it a try.
Step 3
Regular blood tests will need to be done on a regular basis to monitor any progress.
Step 4
Follow all the dietary information in this e-book and stick to the diet. This also means no
smoking and no drinking alcohol whatsoever.
Step 5
Drink nothing else but water, one cup of coffee or tea a day is allowed.
