WHAT SEEDS CAN DO FOR YOUR BODY
Tiny seeds are big on protein and healthy fats—making them a great snack or a
nice add-on to salads. You can even blend them into smoothies for extra
nutritional punch. Some of my favourites:
FLAXSEED: BEST FOR FISH AVOIDERS
An original superfood, flax is brimming with fibre, cholesterol-lowering
compounds called lignans, and healthy omega-3 fats (like you get from fish). Try
in yoghurt or a crumb coating for chicken. Buy them ground so you get all the
nutrients inside the hard outer coating.
PUMPKIN SEEDS: BEST FOR FENDING OFF DIABETES
Pumpkin seeds, often called pepitas, are a good source of magnesium (a
tablespoon has as much as a large banana), a mineral many people don’t get
enough of and one that can help lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, and
diabetes.
