and one of the "ten". He remained behind with his wife Ruqayya, daughter of
the Messenger of God (SAAS), nursing her until she died. He was given a full
share of the spoils.

Qudama, one of the initial Emigrants.
'Ad? b. Abii al-Zaghba' al-Juhani, who was sent ahead as a scout by the
Messenger of God (SAAS), along with Basbas b. 'Amr.
'Isma b. al-Husayn b. Wabra b. Khalid b. al-'Ajh, Wsayma, an ally of the
Banii al-Hzrith b. Siwzr of Ashjac: he was also said to be of the Banii Asad b.
Khuzayma; 'Atiyya b. Nuwayra b. 'Amir b. 'Ayiyya al-Khazraji; Wqba b. 'Amir
b. Nabi al-Sulami; Wqba b. Wthmitn b. Khalda al-Khazraji, brother of Sacd b.
Wthmiin.
Wqba b. 'Amr Abn Mas'iid al-Badri: in the jahih of al-Bumri it is stated that
he was present at Badr. However, many of the scholars of the military expedi-
tions of the Prophet (SAAS) express doubts over this and therefore do not
include him.
Wqba b. Wahb b. Rabi'a al-Asadi, the Asad of Khuzayma, an ally of the Banii
'Abd Shams, he being a brother of ShujaC b. Wahb, one of the initial Emigrants;
Wqba b. Wahb b. Kalda, an ally of the Bano Ghatfm.
Wkkasha b. Mihsan al-Ghanmi, one of the initial Emigrants, one who will
enter paradise without reckoning.
'Ali b. Abo Talib al-Hxshimi, later "Commander of the Believers", one of the
Four Caliphs, and one of the three champions who went forth at Badr. God be
pleased with him!
'Ammzr b. Y%ir al-'Anasi al-Madhbji, one of the initial Emigrants; Wmaa b.
Hazm b. Zayd al-Najjw. Wmar b. al-Kbatpb, later "Commander of the
Believers", one of the Four Caliphs, and one of the two sheikhs, learned elders,
known as al-muqtadz behrmd, "those relied upon", who were viewed as exemplars.
God be pleased with them both!
Wmar b. 'Amr b. Iyas of Yemen, an ally of the Banu Lawdhiin b. 'Amr b.
Sdim, said to be a brother of Rabi' and Waraqa; 'Amr b. Thalaba b. Wahb b.
'Adi b. Mslik b. 'Adi b. 'Amir Abu Hakim.
'Amr b. al-Hxrith b. Zuhayr b. Abii Shaddxd b. Rabi"J b. Hild b. Uhayb b.
Dabsha b. al-Hzrith b. Fihr al-Fihri; 'Amr b. Suraqa al-'Adawi, an Emigrant;
'Amr b. Abii Sarh al-Fihri, an Emigrant. Al-Waqidi and Ibn 'A'idh give his
name as Ma'mar instead of 'Amr.
'Amr b. Talq b. Zayd b. Umayya b. SinW b. Ka'b b. Ghanm, of the Banu
Haram; 'Amr b. al-Jumiih b. Haram al-Ansari; 'Amr b. Qays b. Zayd b. Sawwxd
b. M3ik b. Ghanm, mentioned by al-Waqidi and al-Umawi.
'Amr b. Qays b. Mdik b. 'Adi b. Khansa' b. 'Amr b. Mdik b. 'Adi b. 'Amir,
the brother of Kharija: Miisa b. Wqba did not mention him.
