'A'idh and al-Waqidi.
Wmayr b. al-Humm b. al-Jamah, nephew of the next above, martyred at
Badr; Wmayr b. 'Amir b. Malik b. al-Khansz b. Mabdhal b. 'Amr b. Ghanm b.
Main Aha Da'ad al-Muini.
Wmayr b. 'Awf, freed-man of Suhayl b. 'Amr: his name is given by al-Umawi
and others as 'Amr b. 'Awf. It is similarly given in both jahih wllections in the
account of the dispatch of Aba Wbayda to Bahrayn.
Wmayr b. Mdik b. Uhayb al-Zuhri, brother of Sa'd b. Aba WaqqQ, martyred
that day; 'Antara, freed-man of the Bano Sulaym and also said to be a member
of that tribe, but God knows best.
'Awf b. al-H%rith b. Rifh b. al-Hbth al-Najjzri, he being the son of 'Afrz",
daughter of Wbayd b. Tha'laba al-Najjaiyya: he was martyred that day;
Wwaym b. Sa'ida al-Ansm, of the Bana Umayya b. Zayd; 'lyad h. Ghanm
al-Fihri, one of the initial Emigrants. May God be pleased with them all!

no concensus about him.

Qatxda b. al-Nu'mm al-Awsi: Qudaa b. Ma& al-Jumahi, an Emigrant, a
brother of Wthmzn and 'Abd All&. Qutba b. 'Amir b. Hadida alSulami; Qays
b. alSakn al-Najjari; Qays b. Abii Sa'Sa'a 'Amr b. Zayd al-Maini, who was in
command of the rearguard at Badr. Qays b. Mubin b. Khalid al-Khazraji; Qays
b. Mukhallad b. Tha'laba al-Najjzri.
THE LETTER KAF.
Ka'b b. Hammm, also known as Jammzr and b. Jammu. Ibn Hisham gave it as
Ka'b b. Ghubshm. He is also known as Ka'b b. Mdik b. Tha'laba b. Jamma.
Al-Umawi stated his identity to be Ka'b b. Tha'laba b. Habala b. Ghanm
al-Ghassani, one of the allies of the Bana al-Khazraj b. Sa'ida.
