Olivet boys basketball
stayed unbeaten (9-0, 4-0)
with a pair of recent wins,
defeating Bronson, 59-54,
on Jan. 18 and Stockbridge,
60-47, on Jan. 14 in a pair
of come from behind wins at
home.
The Eagles trailed 32-
at the half against Bronson
before coming out strong in
the third quarter to level the
game at 32 apiece.

Homer responded with a

6-0 run of its own in the third

quarter to take a six point

lead, but from that point, the

Eagles exploded for a 25-

run to take a 57-47 lead in

the fourth and held on for the

five-point win.

Brayden Wine scored

22 points and secured seven

rebounds to lead the Eagles

in the win, while Tayven

Feldpausch scored in double

figures with 14.

Drew Priddy recorded

a double-double with 11

points and 10 rebounds.

Bryce Wine chipped in with

seven points and six assists.

The Dec. 14 game

followed a similar storyline,

as Stockbridge looked

poised to push the Eagles

to the brink and potentially

pull the upset on the road

as Olivet found itself down

five (34-29) early in the third

quarter.

But from that point on,

the Eagles outscored the

Panthers 31-13 the rest of the

way to secure the 13-point

victory.

Olivet tightened up its

team defense in the second

half after the Panthers fired

on all cylinders from 3-point

range in the first half, while

the Eagles’ offense was able

to knock down some open

looks themselves from the

perimeter in the final 16

minutes of action.

Olivet’s shot making

also led to driving lanes

opening up, leading to drop

off passes from the Eagles’

guards to the big men inside

for easy baskets.

Brayden Wine led

the Eagles in scoring on

the night with 15 points.

Feldpausch had a solid all-

around performance with

13 points, six rebounds and

three steals.

Priddy went 6-for-

shooting in the contest with

12 points and six rebounds,

while Bo Lincoln added 10

points, six assists and three

steals.

Olivet girls basketball

pushed its overall record

above .500 on the season

with a 49-43 home win over

East Jackson High School

on Jan. 19.

The Eagles were led

by guard Drue Allen, who

scored a career high 25

points and grabbed seven

rebounds.

Payton Otto recorded

her second straight double-

double with 11 points and

10 rebounds, while Olivea

Gessner was the third Eagle

to score in double figures

with 10 points in the win.

The nonconference

victory improved the

Eagles’ record to 5-4, with a

3-1 mark in GLAC play.
