at four different schools across the San Fernando Valley
during my time with the Los Angeles public school system.
Simultaneously, I was working as a real estate broker and
residential appraiser, something I had done since long
before receiving my teaching credential. This meant that I
was working 6 or 7 days each week, including school
vacations and holidays. I was never home, missed most
every special occasion for my family and friends, and just
saw life passing me by. At some point I wondered why I
was living my life this way, and started thinking about
other possibilities. I was also exhausted at the end of each
long day, and decided there must be a better way.
At the end of 2005 I discovered a whole new world on the
Internet, where people were selling digital information
products to have a home business that could earn a
substantial income. Even though I had been into
computers since 1982, and used them extensively both in
my real estate business and in the classroom, I just didn't
realize the extent to which this had become a reality for so
many people. It turns out this has been going on since
about 1995, and really took off in the year 2001. When I
listened to a few recordings and read some articles and
eBooks on how to work from your home computer at the
end of 2005, I was hooked.
Within a year I had resigned from the school district, which
meant that I was no longer eligible to receive my medical
benefits or to receive a monthly pension at some point in
