the future. At the same time, I was giving away my real
estate clients to people who were more qualified than I
was, because of their vast experience and specialization.
I knew I was burning the ships, as they say, but it felt like
the right thing to do at that time in my life. I got busy
learning and doing, and the rest is history. I continue to
keep my teaching credential active so that I can stay
abreast of new technologies and educational strategies, but
I will not be in the classroom again. My classroom is now
the world, and I have students in almost every corner of the
world. I also maintain my broker's license, and that gives
me the opportunity to purchase health insurance through
their group plan.
Because I live in southern California my house payment is
extremely large - more than five thousand dollars a month
- and my other expenses are also quite high. My original
goal was to replace the income I had been earning as a
classroom teacher in Los Angeles and a real estate
broker/residential appraiser. The nice surprise for me is
that I have been able to more than triple my previous
earnings, all with working only about a third of the time I
used to when I was teaching and working in real estate six
or seven days a week. This did not happen overnight. It will
take you less time than it took me, because I did not have
the advantage of having anyone to guide me every step of
the way when I was getting started online, as I am doing
for you in this detailed, step by step book.
