Spiced Stovetop Popcorn

I am always shocked by how many of
my friends think popcorn can only be
made in the microwave. I grew up
making it on the stove, and so will my
girls. They love pouring the oil and the
corn kernels, and then hearing them
pop. It also tastes much better spiced
with Indian masalas than with heavy
butter.


1 tablespoon oil


½ cup (100 g) uncooked popcorn kernels


1 teaspoon coarse sea salt


1 teaspoon garam masala, Chaat
