To me, labels are not tools for judging
what others can and cannot do on a daily
basis. Instead, they’re merely a way to
understand a person’s food philosophy
and thus fine-tune my suggestions on
food when I dine out with them or invite
them to my house for a meal. For this
reason, I think it’s a good idea to
understand the variety of food labels and
culinary choices out there, especially in
the nonmeat-eating world.
