Regular FastingProgram to be used with the Special Diet
Choosearegularfastingprogramthatsuitsyourhealthneedsandyourpersonality.Ifyouhaveaspe-
cific,seriousailment,youmaywishtoenterintolongerfasts(1-2weeks),butthisshouldbedoneun-
dertheguidanceofaqualifiedhealthprofessional. 109 Inmostothercases,includingchronicdis-
eases, health will be restored by:
- Making aPERMANENTchange to the proper diet.
- Instituting the correct eating habits.
- Practicingregularfastingsystematically(1/2dayfast, 24 hour
fast, one day per week fast, or three days per month fast).
- Mystical spirituality practices.
Symptoms of cleansing during a fast
Asthemovementtowardsahighqualityvegetariandietandcorrecteatinghabitsprogresses,the
bodywillenterintoanaturalprocessofcleansing.Onemayexperienceheadaches,hungerpangs
(cravings),insomnia,burstsofenergy,burstsofweakness,intestinaldiscomforts,etc.,attimesdueto
theprevioushabits.Thesearethebody’sattemptstoadjusttothenewregimenafterbeingen-
cumberedwithimpuritiesforalongtime.Itisadvisabletohaveaqualifiedhealthprofessional 110
monitoryourprogresssothatyouwillnotbreakthecleansingcycleoutofignoranceofwhatishap-
pening,whichmayleadtofearsabouttheprocess.Asyoupracticethefast,youwillexperiencesome
othereffectsofthecleansingprocess.Youmaygetheadaches,nausea,coatedtongue,unpleasant
odor,mucusintheurine,etc.Donotbediscouraged,sincethesearegoodsigns.Continuedrinkinga
lot of water and doing breathing exercises (discussed in the “Proper Breathing” section of this book).

Breaking a fast
Generally,youshouldtakeasmuchtimebreakingafastasyoudidpracticingthefast.Soifthefast
lastedthreedaysyoushouldtakethreedaystograduallybreakitasfollows.Gradually,movefrom
lightertodenserfoods.Soifyoufastedwithwateralone,beginwithjuicesdilutedwithwater,then
