maycausevisions,outofbodyexperiencesandotherpsychicphenomena.Ifthe
personisreadytointegratetheseexperiences,theycanbebeautifulandjoyous
movementstowardsself-discovery.Ifthepersonisnotready,thatis,iftheyareig-
norantastowhatishappeningoriftoomuchisoccurringtoosoon,theymaybe-
comefearfulandevencometobelievetheyarelosingtheirmind.Inthiscaseitis
besttobreakthefastandseekspiritualcounseling.Consuminggroundingfoods
(cookedvegetablesandtransitiondiettypefoods)willbethebestcourseofaction
tobringthemindbacktoanormallevelfunctioning.Yourpersonalityistobecome
integrated.Integrationofthepersonalitymeansthattheexperiences,iftheyoccur,
aretobeblendedwithyourpreexistingknowledge.Youcannotremaininanoutof
bodystateforever.Youmustatsomepointendthefastandcontinueyourlifeasa
humanbeing.Thedifferencenowhoweveristhatyouwillbemoreconsciousofthe
spiritualdimensionswithinyourself.Thisgrowingintegrationwillallowyoutobe-
comespirituallyenlightened(achieveaperennialawarenessofDivineCosmicCon-
sciousness),evenwhilecontinuingtoliveinsocietyandevenwhenyouarenot
fasting.
Mental Disorders
Inanycase,thosesufferingfrommentaldisorders,notrelatedtospiritualevolution,
maybebenefitedbyfastingsincethispracticewillcleansethebodyfromchemical
imbalancesandotherphysiologicalirregularitieswhichareaffectingthebrainand
