ableproducts,animalproductscontaincholesterol.Thus,Dr.Ornishdoesnotrecommendfishorfishoils
forhis“reversal”dietforheartdisease,ashighcholesterolisoneofthekeyfactorscontributingtoheart
disease,thenumberonekillerintheUSA.Rather,herecommendsvegetariansourcesofOmega-3fatty
acids.Dr.Ornishalsostatesthatfishoilsmaycauseinsulinresistanceandincreasedbloodglucoselevels
indiabetics,andvoicesconcernaboutthepotentialcontaminationoffishwithtoxinssuchaspesticides,
chlorinated hydrocarbons, and heavy metals.
