Thecalibrationcanbe completedbythephotographerif
theyhaveagoodeyeforcolours,bysimplyprintingoffan
image with the printernormally used onto photographic
qualitypaper.Comparethecolourswithintheimageand
make adjustments to either the screenor theprinter as
required.


Foramoreconsistentoutcomeyoumaywishtoinvestin
software that, working together with a colorimeter (an
onscreengadgetthatreadsthecolourvaluesproducedby
themonitor), willcalibrate thescreen.Youmust ensure
thatthescreenisproperlywarmedupforcalibrationtobe
accurate.Twoexamplesofthissoftware areColorVision
Spyder Pro and ColorVision ColorPlus.


Alternatively,ifusingaprofessionallab,theprintermay
wellcalibratethesystem forthephotographer,andoffer
details and advice for syncing output to their system.


Correct calibration of the printer and screen together is
especiallyimportantwhenworkingwiththeZoneSystem
