has.Ona35mmsensortheoptimum‘normal’lenswould
be a 50mm.


overexposed Wheretoo muchlight hasbeen reflected
from the scene,the result willbe loss of any highlight
detail.Thiscanbeseenonthehistogram,wherethe‘white’
edge will be clipped.


panning Atechniqueusedwhenphotographingamoving
subject; the photographer moves the camera with the
subject,thuskeepingthesubjectsharpandindetailandthe
backgroundblurredwithmotion.Usedtoagreatereffect
when the shutter speeds are slower.


panoramic Awide-angleviewofthescene,whichcan
be either horizontal or vertical.


pixel A single unit in digital imaging.


PPI(pixelsperinch) Usedtodescribetheresolutionof
an onscreen image.


print profile Used to describe the properties of the
printerandpapercombinationinaparticularcolourspace;
